Check Out Our Spring Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Danielle Micich We’re moving through springtime here in Fort Lauderdale, but we haven’t forgotten about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Our winner for Spring is Tonya S., who shared a few photos of her home that truly capture the benefit shutters can bring to a room. Tonya’s house features some gorgeous new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Since her shutters are shut, you can really get a glimpse of how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Envision that dining room with a slightly softer light; it would be a great setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your dining room like Tonya has, you can express the mood you want no matter what it’s like outside. Also worth mentioning is how the white shutters perfectly match the white trim on the baseboard and the white ceiling. Those neutral accents make the black table and the wood floor’s natural color ”pop” even more. She didn’t stop at just one photo of her shutters, though. She also sent in a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter! There’s a few reasons we love this barn door shutter. The first reason is that it looks fantastic. The rustic look of the wood with that modern jet black frame up top give a timeless yet cozy look. What we love even more than the shutters’ looks is how practical it is. Her barn door shutter sits on the front of the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still allowing the window to easily open and shut.Because the shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still make use of that deep window jamb, too. For instance, if she wanted to set some flowers on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter so it can catch some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside.According to Tonya this is the third time they’ve had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for continuing to choose us for all her shutter needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya received a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area.If you think your shutters should be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Floridian next time!Or if Tonya’s photos make you feel like your home is missing a little something, we’d love to help.
